About Me

my mission:

To help you manifest your own happily ever after.

My Badass Journey

As a certified life coach trained by the extraordinary Martha Beck; a former heavy metal vocalist (that’s me in my band Warbride, back and center), a writer, podcaster, tarot reader, author of The Badass Planner, and self-proclaimed queen of wanderlust—one would definitely say I’ve traveled many roads.

Here’s some things I’ve learned about myself along the way:

  • I am a self-starter who jumps right into things that interest me: manuals be damned.
  • I am and will always be lured by anything that glitters or creeps. (except spiders.)
  • I am a very strange mix of pragmatic + woo.
  • I refuse to get old; I will only grow older.
  • Everything must have meaning and purpose, even if that purpose is only to delight me for a day.
  • I love nothing more than helping someone manifest their Badassery.

I may not wear as much hair spray these days, but I will never stop rockin’ and rollin’.

One Tale to Rule Them All

Once upon a time, I stumbled upon a story that would literally change my life.

That, my friends, is J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

After 20 + years of living with my nose deep down into the books and the films (extended versions, of course), I have now decided to give myself the title of your friendly Lord of the Rings Luminary.

My passion is to shine and share the light of its timeless wisdom and valuable life lessons through my writing, my podcast, and the tarot to better help you rock out your unexpected journey.

We learn through stories. They provide new perspectives as we see ourselves through the archetypes of the characters, inspire us to think outside the box and be creative, and let’s not forget how they provide the valuable aspect of escapism and entertainment; giving our busy brains a much needed break so it can rest and restore itself again.

I can’t wait to share all of this magical goodness with you! I promise I won’t make you cosplay.

Great But...Why Tarot?

Trust me–I’ve always raised a cynical eyebrow at this kind of thing until I had a random just-for-fun reading that truly hit home.

It inspired me to finally let my pragmatic self connect with my intuitive magical side that had always tugged at my pant leg. Since raising my white flag and surrendering to the pull of reading the tarot, I continue to be amazed at the effects and changes that I’ve witnessed in myself and many others that I’ve worked with.

Getting a tarot reading is really fun and often very helpful, but as I’ve spent more and more time with my cardboard friends, I’ve come to realize that you can also gain so much daily insight and inspiration by playing with the tarot on your own.

There is just something about those cards with their artful beauty, time-honored wisdom and sense of play that allows you to unearth deep-seated thoughts and ideas that you almost know and bring them to the surface for your self-exploration.

Nothing takes the place of a skilled reader when it comes to getting an outside view; but working with your own tarot deck as a daily practice as you would your morning stretch, journal-writing or meditation, is a uniquely wonderful way to expand your knowledge of yourself and the world around you.

Although we can’t (and shouldn’t, IMO!) ignore the magic and mystical spirituality that is weaved around and within the work of this incredible methodology, I want to take the often unapproachable woo woo out of the tarot and make it more of a mainstream everyday tool. With the MANY styles and types of cards, luckily it’s easy to find one that speaks to you!

You can find me reading the tarot for others on Clubhouse, Instagram, and sometimes at events and private get-togethers. Although what really lights my fire these days is creating content around the tarot, I’m happy to consult with you about a personal reading!

Get Enchanted.

I would feel pretty confident in saying that those of us who feel drawn to these ‘otherwordly’ kinds of things are first and foremost drawn to their unique beauty. That can sound trite or like a waste of time, but there is actually science behind spending time with it–and I love me some science!

What we find beautiful and pleasing to the eye gives us an extraordinary feeling, and it opens our minds and inspires us to take action. We don’t want that feeling to go away, so we naturally feel pulled create other ways to experience in our lives.

Works of visual, literary and film art like the tarot and The Lord of the Rings can help us rediscover and reclaim who we are, so that we can be sure to follow the path that is calling to us; a path that moves us forward where we are meant to go, crafting an existence that is truly fulfilling and with purpose.

I don’t know about you, but as much as I love zombies in the movies, I really don’t want to shuffle around day in and day out like one.

From Middle Earth to Minneapolis

Living in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my hubby, two kids and a couple of cats, one would think I live a pretty conventional life. Like a Hobbit I do like my creature comforts, but I realized a long time ago that, like Bilbo, my life really IS about the journey–and I’m okay with that.

Horror movies, strong coffee with cream, music from metal to yacht rock, sparkles, the ocean, irreverent humor, a good page-turner, anything Lord of the Rings…obviously… (channeling Prof. Snape here, another literary love), Badass brainstorming and conversation, making my family play board games with me…these are a few of my favorite things.

What I Want...

If you have found your way here, you are a wonderfully unique and unconventional human being who I want in my Fellowship!

I’m really passionate about you celebrating your unique self unapologetically, and realizing that you have ideas, inner strength, beauty and BADASSERY that can change not only your world, but also those around you–just like our favorite characters in our favorite trilogy.

There are things out there just waiting for you to discover them; me + the tarot + our LOTR friends will help you find what they are so you can rock them right out.
